I was just wondering y'alls opinions on the next great bull, either a name of an up and coming sire or your speculations on a pedigree that you feel will produce the next big thing, either for the show ring or the pasture.  <cowboy>

Great question. I like the Firewater's - they have done really well. The issue is we have been using Wyoming Wind and Cigar for so long that pedigree has been used up.

I see lots of guys in Texas using the Debruckyer Reality bull - havent seen anything out of him yet. Has anyone?

Several good ones coming out of Canada but they are more performance type cattle then in the US are use too (bigger birthweights, more bone). The Sparrows Sanchez bull had some pretty good sons in Canada and had moderate birthweights. There is a Sanchez son from Canada Polzin and Thomas bought who looks pretty good CML Diablo 2X. I am sure he will be introduced to the breed shortly as the "new" outcross. I saw they had some embryos already in their embryo sale online out of this bull - might be something to check out if you are looking for the next new pedigree.

In my opinion the Sparrows, SVY Freedom and Firewater cattle have already arrived and will have major breed impact.  The big question is what about after this latest generation?
Don't discount the possibility of an Australian or New Zealand bull going mainstream.  Quality in both countries is going up all the time.  Another possibility is that a Full French bull or percentage French bull makes it big.  Full French can down size frame while adding bone and muscle.  If they control birth weight issues a possibility.
The next thing is can the Red Charolais establish themselves like they have in Canada and Australia?  If so this will impact the breed in a big way.
