Interesting maine bull-- was he walking, or AI?  Did he test PHA clean?  I'd like to find more info out on that deal.

Keeping the Maine back thier really makes her a step up from alot of the Durham reds Ive seen-Shes really stout looking yet she doesnt show a hint of shoulder or courseness-and looks great down her topline-especially at the rear-If she walks like she looks-you oughta break out the Mr Man and use a bull like her on them-or ETC O0

I don't know about all that horseshit but she is a very easy keeper. 1200 cow at max. Sodhouse 606 is really stamping out the females.......wedgy shaped......born unassisted......I have never had a hard keeping Sodhouse Lancer 606 female.

I remember seeing this heifer at the Kansas Beef Expo, if I am not mistaken.  I loved her then and still love her.  Shorthorn X Red Angus calves, I think, make some exceptional calves when crossed with the right genetics and mommas.  A neighbor to the south of use crosses his Shorties with Red Angus bulls and the heifers are great.

If you look up the pedigree of Sodhouse Pepper Red 932 *xar55271. This is where I want to end up. I don't really consider the f1 a product. If you linebred f1's (to a point they are almost another breed) in my opinion you have predictability and a product. 932 is a linebred Beckton Lancerf442t on both sides(carcass bull). He is also goes back to Sodhouse Fancy 510 on both sides(who I think is the perfect range cow).  There are no big birth weights bouncing around 932's pedigree. He had a 74# bwt. Composites are only composites. But if you look at say Peltons program in Kansas.....they have Registered Simmimental on one end and Reg. Red Angus on the other end and interesting composites in the middle. They sell the hell out of cattle. I am looking forward to breeding Sodhouse Pepper 932 to most of my heifers this summer. We may find out how far to tight of linebreeding is.

The crew is taking him out to the hill plus show. They'll probably laugh him out of the show ring but if anyone wants to look at him. He is a true easy keeper. I doubt I make it out there.
