What are the opinions on all the champions? Were they exceptional? Did any of them have that "WOW" appearance that took your breath away?

Did the judge find the best ones?

Without a doubt, the Grand Champion steer was the best calf at the show. Reserve champion was an outstanding dude, however class 11 and 12 winners could of been reserve as well. I think overall, all of the champions were outstanding steers. Ft. Worth did an exceptional job on keeping all of the exhibitors safe as they went down the tunnel. Besides the cold, snowy weather on Thursday, it was a great show. 

He found the right ones.  The Newman calf stood out in probably the toughest class I've ever seen. The weights broke weird and Class 10 caught everything from the high 1200s to mid 1300s.  Many years a lot of the high 1200s would have fallen into Class 9.

Contrary to popular opinion, they tried to make improvements to the holding pen last year and it just didn't work.  They made sure it did this year - they had police run the holding pen.  It ran very smooth - they figured that part out.

The judge made a concerted effort to work slower this year.  That caused chaos the first couple of exotic classes till they figured it out.  Today ran pretty smooth.

Wonder who raised that steer?

The photo of him at the premium sale looked amazing. He looked like a chunk and had a very fresh look about him.

The grand steer was by far and away the best animal there. I'd like to hear the board's opinion on where this year's grand stacks up to past year's grand champions at Fort Worth.

I liked the reserve a lot too. I felt like those two stood out considerably compared to everything else.

I thought Johnson did a very nice job sorting the cattle overall.

Over 1000 views, very little info. What's the history on Grand and Reserve, dams and breeders?

Would like to see Martin's Champion from last year stand next to Newman's calf. I think Newman's is better personally.

I just watched both videos of the premium sales and those two calves are very similar. It would be difficult to say which one was better from the videos.

IMO, Newman's calf may have been a bit more fresh but other then that not much difference. They almost looked like full brothers. 

I have never been to Ft Worth, so did not see any of the steers in person.

From watching video and looking a pictures, the yellow steer that Cuatro Shauer won with a couple years ago would be my pick.  I am not sure if I have ever seen one that I would say is better than him. 

I saw him yesterday, looked like you could put him back on feed for a month and win class 12.

Shauer's calf is the one I meant to compare against this year's winner. Shauer won with the gold one last year correct?

No he was year before last.

Who by the way is still alive as a per two years later which is what Rackranch was referring to.
