That"s what the Shorthorn Assoc did for a very short time-and it was a very good cross-dont know for the life of me why Durham Reds Fizzled due to lack of promotion or ?-The Hereford deal should be good-and there are so many users-breeders O0

The black baldy / red baldy has always been a good selling point to commercial cattlemen, I hope they will do their due diligence and advertise it appropriately.

I think the Durham Red fizzled because they look like Red Angus. Shorthorn people hated that. The commercial in my area love the way they look. But Shorthorn breeders love their red roans.......and the black pluses win the plus shows even when most of them are genetic defect carriers. I seriously believe that. I wished so bad the Shorties would have tied up with the Red Angus breed in some kind of program.....epds or whatever.

I for one like Red Angus alot-they are probably ideal for commercial cattle.and the thick ones are way more attractive than black Angus for show cattle. There was a lady from Wyoming or somewhere I used to visit with at Denver that had some of the best ones Ive seen anywhere. And when they first came out as Durham Reds-Reagan bowman had a really good red roan bull calf at louisville. Somehow he got mad about the Association RE that program He got fed up and went black clubby on everything O0

As I understand it some plus shows.......they only need to be 25% to show now instead of 50%.
