Four strands of barb wire cut @ the post =

Just needing to vent……
Been chasing 8 head since Tuesday evening and finally got them corralled and loaded up tonight.

Why cut all four strands? Couldn’t a person just cut the top two and step over the rest?

The beer is good and cold tonight!

but if they only cut the top two strands that would require "extra effort" to possibly have to hop or extend the leg a little bit farther. catch them and flog them i say

Couple of years ago went to check a pasture. When I got there the gate was down. Thought to myself, I know I shut that when I was up here last. I think. Found the cows and saw some were out in the neighbors pasture. Drove over there and saw all 4 strands of barbwire were cut and folded back and a wooden post broke off. A week later heard there was a grass fire about 5 miles east of us and for some reason the fire department went threw our pasture, which wouldn't get them there, instead of taking the county road. OK, that's fine I know they were in a hurry but dang couldn't they call and tell me I needed to fix fence the next day?

The ranch we run here for the owners is 3400 acres, has 28.7 miles of fences on it, that are ALL older than I am.

This spring, after we had already rode or drove all 28 miles of fence and fixed as needed -- we were honored by the presence of a Texas OIL explaration company, and all of thier 30 some odd NON - ENGLISH speaking personel. As they went around the ranch, placing sizmo gear all over and driving to and fro -- it seems they were never touaght how to not only open gates fully, but also not to even look for them in the first place. Too easy to just lay a gate down and rive over it, promptly breaking the gate posts every time as they drove over it. Or better yet, crawling over a fence instead of thru it -- also -- promptly pulling out the top two staples on every post thry did it to. ""WORSE"" yet, they'd come to a fence line with thier big ATV buggies, and just drive over it -- no matter how big.

As we went about re-working the entire ranch -- we were able to come up with many many NEW names currently not available in the modern dictionary! You can do the math on those combinations, trust me, it wasn't too hard to come up with SEVERAL. Luckily, they were done and gone before any summer cattle came in, or we would have been a little bit busy!

So know that we have also seen the OTHER side of the coin for humanity -- after all - money IS everything!

I have had gates opened, wires cut, dogs turned loose, you name it, it's been done at our place.  We live just off a highway near a farily large town, so you can imagine the mushroom hunters we'll have soon.  None ask, by the way.  If I catch them, I call the Sheriff.  They don't do anything, but it makes me feel better.  Saturday night/Sunday morning last weekend will stand out for a long time.  I took part in an Iowa State Triviia night at Hilton Coliseum Saturday night, getting home about 10:40.  The Cardinals were playing the Dodgers in L.A. so I watched the rest of the game when I got home.  I went out to do the 'evening' chores about 12:30, finishing about 1:15.  Real peaceful that time of night.  After doing chores Sunday morning, I got ready for church, went to the car, and noticed the driver's door was ajar, shut, but not latched.  I then discovered that our Dave Ramsey Financial Peace box was not on the front seat where it was supposed to be.  My wife and I coordinate these classes through the church and I thought perhaps she had taken it to work with her when she left at 5:30 a.m.  We sometimes provide copies of forms to people we meet that may need help.  Then, I noticed that the back door was also ajar, closed, but not latched.  Two coats, one with my initials on it, and the T-shirt I got at the Trivia night were missing.  Upon further investigation, I found my cell phone, car keys, and a square 3 gallon bucket and funnel were also missing.  My checkbook was still on the front seat.  No checks missing.  After church, I called my wife at work just to see if by chance she had taken any of the items.  Of course, she hadn't and I suggested that she check her car.  She called back soon and reported that someone had taken her brand new 18 CD set of the Bible, conveniently in a box, and also took between 15-20 CDs from the storage area between the seats in a Toyota Prius.  Most of hers were Christian CDs.  I thought it was a little strange that the Bible and Christian CDs were gone from her car but the Led Zeppelin and Lynnyrd Synnyrd, etc., CDs were still in my car.  Needless to say, the cars ar locked now.l
