Hello everyone.

I have a few questions for you guys. My friend bought a show calf last week and he looks great besides one thing.. It looks like he may have broken his tail when he was younger. The tail actually slants to the right a little and it doesn't sit flush against the twist like it should. Do you think this will hurt him at all in the showring, and if so.. do you have any suggestions for us?

Someone mentioned to us that we may be able to have a vet come out and actually re-brake the tail and put it back together the way it should be.. Sounds extreme.. but if its true and having the broken tail be something that can hurt him in the showring.. it might be worth it.

What do you guys think?

Ive seen a lot of steers with broken tails, never once have i heard a judge criticize one for it, they might call it ou to id him, like "the broken tailed steer", but NO it shouldn't hurt him in the showring
