Does anyone know what Terri Barber looks for or what she likes.  I have heard she is a good judge but we have never had her before. Just curious, thanks.

She does not pic cattle like her family raises (if that makes sense). Her family is big in the Hereford industry but she doesnt follow the stereoptypical hereford pattern (moderate, broody, etc). From my experience, she puts special emphasis on breed character. Sometimes she'll nail you on nit picky things. For instance, I won Ft. Worth w/ a heifer my senior year of high school...went to san antonio and she put me second in class because the female "had a tick too much front end". What breed are you showing?

I have always liked Terri as a judge.  If you were to see her judge Herefords I think she would pick em just like her family raises.  She is really big on breed character, but in a heifer show a judge should be! I have also noticed her being big on heifers being clean fronted, feminine, lots of rib shape and body capacity, and sound.

Shes aight, have had mixed resluts from here, it just depends on what it is. In the Jr show she will do it just about right, usually picking the one i would have. Having a 1st and a few top 3s i will not complain. But dont get caught up in an open show with her, cause then anything goes. Remember its not what you got, but who you know in the open shows.

I have no idea how she judges, but I wouldn't want to be dragging a hereford to her.  I'm dating myself, but her family and the Breeding family from the Texas panhandle used to be openly referred to as the Hereford mafia back in the 80s.  I used to show against her and her brother some.  I don't think I ever beat them.  They and the breedings just traded places at the top every show.  And yes, I'm still bitter if you can't tell.........

She likes them stout from what I've seen from her, just to add on.  We are bringing a super stout heavy bred simmy heifer out there this year, so I hope things go our way.
