We have a fairly stout Who Made Who Cow that we was thinking of breeding to fu man chu. Does he cross good with the who made who cows or not really. any suggestions on that cross or should we be thinking of another cross instead.

Thanks.

Saw a really good Fu Man Chu bull calf out of a WDM cow that wasn't real powerful and WOW... he put it to her super hipped and loads of muscle, still not sure how she got that one out

Best power bull to come along in quite some time in my opinion. The calves are hairy, sound, and have some grow to them. We've had 8 now in the past 2 years and every one of them has been a sell-able calf. Rodgers says to use him on more powerful cows needing style and look to them. We have done some of the opposite actually, he has powered up some of our more maternal cattle that need hair. His only flaw that we see would be that he doesnt add a ton of neck extension. He doesnt put a sloppy front on them like MAB did, just doesnt improve it like some bulls.

I think we works really good on tanky cows that need a little cleaning up.  The cows need to have lots of body.  The calves I have had are structurally sound and walk good.  His calves are more consistant than my MAB's have been.  Calves have come easy with moderate birth weights.

I saw Stock Broker when he was purchased at Ohio Beef Expo. WOW he was a stout one. He was one of the naturally thick bulls there. He was sound and had just on of thickness. With a cow like that, I can only imagine how thick the calves would be. I liked the bull alot.
This is my personal observation- the Fu Man Chu's I saw last year had some issues on the move. they were not the soundest. If the female was super sound they were okay. But if there was the slightest flaw in structure it seem to be magnified with Fu Man Chu.
