probably the best sale in the past 12 months for real deals on real cows..IMO

will they be cheap? I doubt it...

I met him about 16 years ago and thought he was a great cowman then....he has had a lot of time to build since then...

I had the previliage of meeting Mr. Gassman this year when a group of us went up on labor day. He told us all about his cow family and the wonderful 48 Yellow cow that raised Payback. IMO Mr. Gassman is probably one of the few cow people out there that will stop and tell you about every cow he has, what calves they have and what he thinks.  You just have to have the time to sit and listen. ;D

The advertisement in Livestock Plus said every Bred cow must sell.  Is he being forced to sell this beautiful cow herd?  I sure hope not he is a nice man.

It doesn't say in the catalog why the dispersal is being held but he is keeping his heifers and some flushes on the cows selling so he is not going out of the cow business.  The word "dispersal"  can be a powerful marketing tool since folks assume the best ones will be selling.  There seems to be lots of quality in the sale.  Just wish they were fall calvers.

Unfortunately, the Gassman's are seperating and this is the only way to divide the property fairly. It is sad as they have had a long tradition of quality club calves and many expect it to be a very good sale. Don't expect any fire sale deals with the quality product and the high demand.

I know their sale is on live auction tv.  We will be watching and have registered to bid and hoping to pick up a couple cows.  We saw them the week after labor day and many looked great.  If I remember right without looking at the posting in the show circuit the sale is either in Madison or Worthington Springs.
