What was Gismo's color pattern? If I remember right he was homo polled. Bakenhus bought and used him alot. What are his strong points and weaknesses I wonder?

It's Gizmo. Id call him a red neck roan. Calving ease and good females I'd think are his strengths. Maybe to short for some. I always liked him but never used him.

His steers could be good as well. Pretty sure he sired the reserve overall at the Ohio State Fair some years back. Linebred Improver with no Maine is how his pedigree reads.

When I toured through elbee in 2005,I preferred the wymore calves ? Never thought the picture of wymore was a great one compared to  in person.

There is a fella on here that has a solid red Gizmo son and calves should be on the ground now?  Sorry I dont remember the name.

2. Gizmo heifer calf at 4 months
3. Gizmo heifer as a 1st calf heifer with her Hobo heifer

Thanks. Looks like good deep cattle.

I am happy with them - I have a Gizmo 1st calf heifer out of a Midas cow that did a nice job and a Chili cow confirmed pregnant to Gizmo - I personally like the Gizmos better than the Wymores but I only had Wymore bull calves so the sample might be skewed :)

I have used Gizmo as my stand by calving ease sire. The one thing he has never done is take away. He doesn't add bone but he can will add depth and spring of rib. The females have nice udders compact and the right kind of teat size. He is definitely not going to add frame but might make them more moderate.

Gizmo sure works on DLs maine deals-weared the fullblood come from? Her red hiefer was cool O0

I agree Mark Gizmo works on my R&W Maines - although they have the fullblood look they are actually high percentage purebreds - the top cow came from Hardings - sired by a Strutt son out of an RB8W daughter - the dam of the steer is a Topper out of a Witch Doctor - Money Train cow (I tried about 8 times to get another R&W female out of that cow and all I got was black bull calves LOL) - glad you like the heifer - she is cool
