We had two bulls last year out of him. They weren't small when they came out but the cow isn't much on calving ease. They ended up really heavy and long. He will add length and muscle and weight and some frame. He will be good at making some powerful bulls.

Thank you for your reply! How was the depth of body on those calves?

These two were deep. The cow is a ground sow which helps. I saw him before he sold and was a stud.

Honestly, we have a small sample size, but I have no plans on using him again (I have 9 straws left). Ours lacked performance, and she is just plain and average. Her dam is a Club King x Ebony Joy embryo, and this was her second calf. Her first calf was an Upgrade that is fantastic (we showed her), so this little May girl has really disappointed us. She weaned off at 6 months and only 441 pounds, small for us.  Her Upgrade heifer (first calf) weaned off at 608 pounds at the same age.
Here is a picture of her at 5 months...
And her dam...

Thank you for the insight and picture, Firesweep! (thumbsup) I'm really surprised she performed like that for you by looking at Integrate's EPD profile, but I guess EPD's aren't the whole story! You still liking your Ironhide calves?

LOVE them! We had a bull calf a few weeks ago, he follows me everywhere! The best darn docility of all the calves are the Iron Hides, and they are stout with lots of bone. The new Spring EPD's came out, and his only improved for calving ease.
My Integrate calf is one animal, but knowing this cow's history I am disappointed. Maybe she will still grow, she is a May...But I would rather go to the source and use Upgrade versus this son. Just my two cents!
