Yeahhhh, I'm pretty sure all the semen is off the open market by now. If you can get it for less than a couple hundred bucks per, you'll be doin okay.

Assett has been out there since 05. The first year he was in limited release. His breeding is nothing that has been done over and over. He is CF Solution and Mona LIsa. You can get those bloodlines and in the 6 years on the market I haven't seen that many champions he has bred. Sullivans seem to have some good one's selling their sale this past year.BUT thats the first I have seen him heavily used.
You have Sull Fed Ex who is a son. Sull Achiever out of Mona LIsa 35 sister and Solution. Sull Da Vinci code full brother. There is lots of access to those genetics. For us, like that matters, it is no big deal. It will be interesting to see how the market develops but I would rather have WHR Sonny back or TPS Leader 21st. There are so many other bulls I would like to see come back. No bashing anyone's bull just stating my opinion.

/// I pretty well agree-the deal has become somewhat of a broken record-sorry-a 110 pound BW animal should not have 0 BW EPD O0

Thanks for a info.  We bout a few a couple months ago, but do not have fancy cows if it is now valueable enough only for flushes.  My son had found a couple heifers he liked from asset, so we were going to play a little.

THe last 2 bulls I bought semen from to use on this cow was Monopoly and Asset.  I made a modest purchase and the bull got sick or died, and semen price skyrockets.  Then you wonder if it would "waste" the semen on an average cow...  So what semen should I buy for next year?????

how has mickey worked out in recent years.. I used to see and read quite a bit about him, and even purchased semen to use.. but lately, it seems he's fallin off the billboards... I'm guessing he must have died or something?? ?  I've tried emailing, or PMing Mitchell's, but have zero responses.

Any more news on Asset?

The other comments that I got from the semen companies was that they had no semen, when it traded hands, it was at $100-$150.  I don't know this to be the case, just what I heard.  It looks like I will just use some and keep some...  My son liked the calves we saw.  Sorry I didn't learn any more.
Thanks again for everyones input.

On mickey, I liked him in the pasture @ mitch's.  Liked what I saw, bought one.  She is doing fine as a cow.  Very deep bodied.  I have heard them described as practical cattle.
