I wish Arizona the best of luck defending their RIGHT to defend their state against illegals.

Shame on obama for even THINKING of taking them to court (let alone actually DOING IT), when they should be thanking Arizona for doing THEIR job!!!

GO ARIZONA GO!!! I wish we had their Governor!!

I like our govenor, but I agree.

If people would actually take the time to understand that Arizona is just enforcing the law that the Federal Gov't hasn't.  We all have to show "proof" of citizenship if asked (driver's lic., SS card) if asked, regardless of what we look like.  They are profiling, they are just doing their jobs.

California needs to jump on the band wagon also! Taxing the system there. Good thing we no longer live there.

i think ariziona is going to get this one......either way the feds are going to play an active role some where along the line.....they have to take them somewhere?.....it  is a federal crime?....why should taxpayers in wisconsin pay for arizona to control there own border anyway....im afraid the feds are going to concede to the state on this one....let the residents of arizona pay for there own indigenous geographical obsticales.......bush had eight years to fix there borders?....im afraid arizona is going to be on its own, ....and all the other states are going to see how it turns out first (how expensive ) for arizonia residents it becomes, and also how long it takes the latinos to  overrun the state and local governement levels and change the laws themselves......either way more jobs for amercians.....jbarl

im not trying to get into a political battle here but come on "bush had eight years to fix there borders" ??? Is this just the default answer for everything? Like clinton didn't have 8 years to fix it? illegals didn't start crossing until bush took office? seriously. I agree with you that arizona should, and has every right, to defend their borders and i commend them for taking it upon themselves to do it. But the bush line was ridiculous. Its the answer for everything from the whitehouse. Blame Bush. I'm not saying the guy was perfect, but the dead horse has been kicked approximately 756,332,984,376 times.... and here we have our current administration suing a state over protecting itself. let me retype that.  THE FEDERAL GOV IS SUING A STATE FOR PROTECTING ITSELF. yeah blame bush. this isn't a personal attack on you jbarl, i'm just sick and tired of everything being about blaming bush.

smokesrule.....im not blaming bush, ..just why get so up tight now....the republicans had plenty of chances with the majority and bush  to federalize the border....now the govenor of arizona ( republican then and now) is ready to act...its about time i'd say....obama will lose his bid to change the arizona law....arizona however is about to have a " be careful what you ask for"  moment....but as i said....more jobs for amercians....
this is more about jobs and regional safe havens for a cheap labor force than it is about pourous borders....jbarl

This is happenning, because Arizona, as a state, didn't want to pay to train their Law Enforcement Officers to be Federrally Certified under "287 (g)". Then, a horrrible murder took place. Then came the new Arizona state laws that neither supplanted, nor superceded any Federal Laws. Look it up.

Basically, Gov. Brewer didn't research the issue of Federral-certification (basically deputizing a Patrol Cop to be an Immigration Offcer), before She signed a law with her signature. GB

What part of Texas are you living in? I dare you to go south of San Antonio, deep into the Mesquite-and-Cactus-Spanglish-Brush Country (you know, that was Johnny Rodriguez/Freddy Fender Country long before it became known to us rednecks as George Strait Land), and make a statement like that.

287(g). Guys, there is a right way to do things, without getting racial profiling into the issue. That's all I'm saying. Call your Congressman.

the taxpayers of arizonia dont get asked to pay to build the bridges/roads/ and dams/ and pay for the yearly tons of salt they use in wisconsin to deal with the conditions of there geography......wisconsins dont need to pay for arizonas geography issues...
as far as amenesty goes....arizona has set the tone.....let the chips fall where they may.....
if a bank robber escapes from jail...and then becomes a model citizen for 10 years on the run, does he deserve to stay free, or is he expected to go back to jail  ??.....thats not how our NATION works...god expects us to live by mans laws as well...the compassion is there for illegals....but the law has been here longer...and amercians want there jobs back...jbarl

to me this is all about jobs, and amercians....and we can surely agree to disagree...im just glad to see the issue finally addressed.....even the rebutal solution is directed straight at the employers and there ability to exploit illegal labor....yes you have to have a license to drive a car..an id to buy a beer/ and fly on a plane, but you dont have to have any of the three or a valid social security number  to work at a tyson/swift or cargil facality for 10 years??  no one says its going to be easy.....looking past it is over though....jbarl

Any Illegals can go and get a fake drivers license and social security card in a heartbeat. You do have to have at least two of these to get hired at one of the above mentioned mentioned companies.
