Excuse the poor cellphone picture but this little girl was born just the other day. BW was 90s and born unassisted. I thought the cow was a few days away from calving and low and behold this little girl showed up! <cowboy>

Thanks, she was only about 3 hours old in the picture, I tagged her and walked away and thought nope im going to snap a quick picture of her. She was hard to catch running around her mother and already playing with other calves!

Please get a side picture of her. She is wide topped for not being very old. She looks good.
The picture in my Avatar is a Golden Child.

Golden Child can raise some real good heifers.  We've got several, including the spotted one I've posted photos of on here several times.

We have several that had their first calves this past fall.  All are doing fine so far as mommas.

One thing I will say about GC is that I have yet to get a black calf out of him. They can get kinda funny colored for us. Breed him to a char or smoke and you will be fine, breed him black and you will be fine. I would protect him a tick on the front end making sure the cow is a bit cleaner fronted. he will make them grow so if you are scared of calves getting too big then use him on smaller cows. Personally we never had any problems with birth weight, others have so I would make sure you dont breed him to a cow that is known to throw it. I hope this helps!
