Anyone know of anywhere that raises or sells gomer bulls? Tired of using cows with implants that dont always work great.  Located in central indiana near indianapolis.

Did you make him a sidewinder, or how did you do it?

I always leave the last bull calf born out of the commercial cows for a gomer bull.  It makes me nervous to be buying possibly used breeding age bulls for gomers as I think it is cruel and unusual treatment to use peno-blocks.  We just have the vet do a vasectomy on the gomers so there is still penis extension and obviously possibility of disease transmission.
As I walk through the shadow of the valley of SP, I shall fear no evil

If you dont do the "sidewinder" method as mentioned above and the gomer bull is still able to erect would he still insurt himslef in to cows  that could maybe cuase infection in the receptive track thus deminsihig you chances to correctily and safely AI a cow without any problems. I was taught buy a guy who breeds alot of cows and uses and sells gomer bulls that he always does both just for saftey purposes
