Have any clubby guys used Pericles?
The 2013 calves will be the first AI calves from other herds.  2012 was the first year Pericles was available through Genex.

In 2011 Bobby Wellner ( and some of his friends) used him on clubby heifers and cows for 2012 calves.  He used him on Eye Candy and Carpe Diem daughters, and some Angus and Maine X Shorthorn cows.  He did have to assist (hand pulls) some of the heifers, but no big issues.  He likes the calves, and is keeping all of the heifers for replacements.

If you were to breed him clubby, would you reccomend a larger framed cow?

Yes
Some of our old Galloways cows are only 900-1000 in running condition.  Pericles daughters out of those cows are about 200 lbs heavier than their mothers.  Not much taller, but longer and deeper.

I have a clubby cow due to Pericles April 20th. She's a big black HomebrewxFear this cow. I am really excited. I will post pictures when the time comes. Last year she had a SULL Sinister bull calf who weighed in at 124#. That cow pushed him out in 15 mins. and he was up nursing with in the hour.

Pericles calves won't be that big, ofcourse the cow does play a role too.  Our fullbood Pericles calves are usually up and nursing within 30 minutes from the time the waterbag appears.

Thanks for using him.  I too am looking forward to see his calves on all the different types of cows he was used on.  We like him a lot.

Thanks.

The Pericles X Clubby bred females calves will be hitting the ground shortly around the country.  We are anxious to see the results.
