We got pictures done yesterday for some fall consignments. I just thought I would post a picture of TXF Peggy's Pride 107T. She is a 2 year old out of Huberdale's Rockdale Pride 50K bull and her mother is a CF Varsity daughter going back to the Scotsdale Augusta cow family. She will sell at the Revival in September safe in calf to Einmore MR Gus 80C.

Jim, It looks like Peggy's Pride has continued to develop really well since I saw her last. She has some pretty impressive genetics stacked up in her  background. Her dam is a great female and had a great show career before becoming a great brood cow. I remember her very well, as I made her Reserve Grand at the Royal Winter Fair the year I judged there. Peggy's Pride is sired by Rockdell Pride 50K, a bull that worked so well at Huberdale, here in SK.Pride is now at Fantasy Lane in Ontario and is still going great at 9 years of age.  I always liked the Pride offspring, and  his daughters were popular in Huberdale's sale last December. The Pride daughters left at Huber's are a super bunch. When Gerald Spry in Australia asked me to find a good  bull he could use in his herd, Rockdell Pride 50K was the first bull I thought of, and we were able to get a deal done and now his calves are working well in Australia. Going back further in her pedigree, there is the Scotsdale Augusta cow family. I am a great  believer in cow families, and there aren't many that are more consistent than the Scotsdale Augusta's. This is an old cow line that has proven itself through many decades.

Where on earth did you find the 80C semen to breed this female to? There is very little 80C left so this should be a real sale feature having her bred this way. 80C has sired some great producing animals including Studer's Pretender and TM Gus, and many outstanding females.
Good luck in the sale. I really think you should be at least keeping Petting Rights in this female, but you are really offering a great opportunity for someone to buy a really good female!

Great looking female that looks to provide some out cross genetics. Nice udder. We always say we are going to make that trip it is only 4.5 hours north of us but we always seem to get wrapped up in something else. Maybe this year we will make the trip.

Thanks for the comments. Grant I was very fortunate to acquire 5 doses of 80C semen a couple of years ago and had 2 doses left in the tank. When Steve and Julie inquired if we had anything for the sale this year I felt that we would only make the trip with something that would stir some interest in outcross Canadian genetics. Peggy's Pride is our best 2 year old for sure and will give someone the opportunity to benefit from her breeding to Mr. Gus 80C. Keeping Petting rights might be a good idea as it would give Nancy and I an excuse to leave the farm for a road trip next year. Maybe I should sell you part of the petting rights and then we could take a good road trip. We haven't done that in a while.

I will try and find the picture of her dam from the Royal when you made her Reserve female. That year was a good year. Her mother was Canadian Junior National Champion in July, Reserve Female at the Royal in November and then Junior Champion at Agribition  2 weeks later. The even better part is she has made the Doner pen.

Thanks we are quite proud of her. I forgot to mention that she is TH and PHA free.
