I know how much hair growth involves work, but i was wondering what is the best way to get waves out of my hairy hereford steer. I have thought about slick shearing him and then working my butt off on brushing and combing or just brush and comb abd dont slick shear? what do i do? Also when is the best time to feed somthing like SHAG is just so many days before show or 120 days before show or all summer or what??

Walmart has a product called "spray it straight", also when you rinse - blow until completely dry, in other words when you think it's dry -BLOW SOME MORE! RW

A family who buys calves from us has been using the new Sullivans product, Wave Tamer, and have had FANTASTIC results.

We have had some red shorty's, Kadabara and Who Da Man hair. The one thing we have used for daily hair care is Cholesteral on the really kinky ones. Buy it at Sally's beauty supply in quart and larger sizes. it is kind of messy. Looks like crisco but mix with warm water and spray in hair. Brush rice root but needs to be washed out every week. Use every other day usually no more than three days a week. Will relax the hair. Works great to blow it in too. On show day we have used Olive Oil walmart product for ethnic hair great shine and also relaxes hair. You just have to stay on top of it.

I am NON-practicing hairdresser but have been thinking about using a product I used to use in the shop to pull out curl.  Just haven't decided if I am brave enough to try something new on my own.  But my 10 yr. old has had a hard time "staying on top of" the hair on our hereford.  That stuff is crazy!  If I try it and it works I'll let you know.

I have actually asked my wife's hairdresser how she handles certain issues with hair and it has really helped.

When I showed Herefords we mixed Bay Rum with kleensheen.  Brush brush brush with it then blow blow blow.  I never found an "easy" way out with that hair
