I want to tell everyone who might be looking for a bull to use on heifers that we used Gucci, 389047, on heifers and second calf cows and they came small and have grown really well.  We had people come look at the calves and the ones they liked best were out of him and our bull Senior Rojo.  The calves are big bone, square, big topped, hairy and are growing real well.  They are gentle and walk slow watching everyone whomight be in the pin with them.  WE also got 10 out of 10 AI calves.  We only got one heifer.  I have already selected one to leave as a bull and he was the last one born.  They have weighed between 64 and 76 at birth and then grow the bone.

He is a Lamborghini out of the full sister to Hotline bred to Habanero.

Early looks are great.

Joe Boy. Thanks for the heads-up on Gucci. He's got the genetics and goes back to some great cow families. Barry Nowatzke is doing a good job assembling some impressive Maine cattle. So I'm not surprised. With reports like that it will not take long for this bull to catch on.

"You don't want them born stout but you want them to grow stout". Reasonable, consistant birth weights... Then grows the bone and comes the stoutness. Nice concept.

You know everyone is going to want pictures!  <cowboy>

Does anyone care to comment on how his half brother Predator is for calving ease??  Had him on the "to try" list and was curious...

I do not know, as we now only have one and we bred her to Hard Core.  This heifer calf will have to hurry if she wants to stay in our herd.

My brother is going to breed his half breed brangus heifers to him.  Their sire is Sun Seeker.  I wonder if he will throw too much hair for the American cross cattle.

We had 9 Gucci's born out of first calf heifers and 2nd calvers with birth weights of 63 to 77 lbs. Very pleased with the quality of calves as they just improved as they got older. Calves are good boned with awesome hair. Have never seen Maine calves with this much hair. Saw a Gucci heifer in Louisville and she had Heat Wave type hair. Unbelievable.... Next Spring we are expecting 16 Guccci's out of first calf heifers and some Simmi and Maine cows. Just can't wait !

We calved out11 first calf heifers to Gucci and got along really well. Birth weights from 65 to 72 pounds. He definitely adds a cool look and hair. He worked really well on my Meyer daughters. Very consistent in adding nice fronts good bone and tons of hair. Looks to me the 4 replacement heifers i kept keep getting better with time. Bred most of our Maine cows to him to calve in March.

I will try to get some photos in the next two weeks.

I did see three calves out of Predator and they have the same killer look as the Gucci calves, but to me they seemed to have a little less hair.  I think all of the Lamborghini sons will throw hair because he does.  I love the Predator calves I saw.

I have also thought the calves have the Heat Wave look.  That is a good observation.

I also think  Habanero on the maternal contributes to hair. He has a gene that can really throw the hair...Especially leg hair but just not all the time. Sometimes Hab can throw the really curly hair. About one in every 8-10 calves. Is anyone seeing the curly hair out of Gucci?

Was wondering about more reports on Gucci calves.

I was thinking about using him on couple I-80 heifers, a heat wave x full flush x 602g, and possibly a ali x (heatwave x thorne y-23) (full sib to the crowd favorite bull).

Attached is a photo of the Ali x full sib to the crowd favorite bull, do you think he would work?  Or would you suggest something else on her?  I used an I-80 son that i picked up in the winners circle sale on her and he came out with an awesome brindle hair coat, square hipped and wide.

Thanks

We have been very happy with our Gucci calves.  One is in the showbarn getting ready for Jr. Nationals out of our Audrey donor cow, and we have another out of an Audrey daughter that has a bull calf that is most likely going to be in our showstring at Ft. Worth Open Maine Show next year.  Birth weights have been very moderate, and they have all had a cool look with super thick jet black hair.  Already flushed a 3/4 sib to Montego Bay's dam to Gucci this fall, and planning on flushing a flush mate to ZNT Moves Like Jagger to him this month.

Here is a 2 month old Gucci bull calf out of a SZH Deuces Are Wild x JAZX Audrey 352N first calf heifer.  He is polled, jet black, super stout, hairy, and had an 82 pound birth weight.  He was bigger than I would have liked for being out of a first calf heifer, but he is definitely made right.  I am sure this won't be the last time y'all see this dude.

That's a damn good calf

Thank you.  We are pretty dang excited about this one.  He looks right and he's bred right.  He has a really cool look for a purebred Maine that is TH and PHA free.

I know when ZNT says two months then the calf is actually two months old.

Love the look and design.  I think he could end up in somebody's show string. Really high qaulity calf and should look super at weaning. A little different twist in pedigree.

Can't wait to see him in person.
