:) Hey everyone! As we know, many of the cattle world persay is constantly trying  and buying new things such as feed supplements and additives to help produce and give us that extra "kick" to put the hair on our show steers. Looking at different supplements and additives and with basic knowledge of human hair growth ive found vitamins such as A, D, E, B  and Calcium are useful and ingredients such as Kelp or Seaweed that help lower body temperatures (Such as melatonin as well).  And even Wheat Germ oil and Soy bean oil I am seeing in alot of these supplements. What im getting at here is has anyone made there homemade mixes of vitamins or minerals as a feed additive aimed at hair grouth ( of course along with the manual labor and washing ans brushing and blowing hair) ?  When we get down to the nitty gritty of some of these supplements many contain Biotin or Niacin for example - I am no feed rep or nutritionist. I just wonder if we can get these in concentrate or mix our own variety of purley these active ingrediens used..

Same question is now aimed at Muscle and Joint flexablility and soundness - Alot of both hair and soundness is how they are housed and handled as well as genetics but for example glucosamine is used for joints.. anyone made there own mixes to feed show steers?
Of course anyone can go buy a bucket of supplements or bag etc but sometimes research and homemade feeding rations work better? Anyone heard of anything or used anything themselves or found feed tricks to work like this

We use Animal Element Daily Detox Supplement on our show cattle and barrel horses.  We also add in Glucosamine-Sulfate.  The detox is all natural, increase hair growth, topline, focus/calm, hormonal support and has HA and MSM for joints.  Kelp is one of the ingredients.  Hope this helps....

Yes we do with great success, my mom come up with it , and pharmacist said it should work and it does all vitamins and supplements. Have also used flair with great success also but a little expensive compared to our home brew.

We feed 1 scp (enclosedin bag) x 2 a day with feed.  We also add in Pure Lysine.  We start them on it either at weaning or purchase and they are kept on it while showing etc..  ]
