Okay, so as Apr. 1st is right around the corner, I'm ordering hair supplements. I've decided on shag, since I have heard the best feedback about it.
I was wondering if I could/should also feed my steer some melatonin pills or tasco as well?????
Also,we are gonna shave them off next weekend so they can start growing new hair, which clipper blade should I use???
April 1st, they go under fans in the dairybarn, and start getting rinsed at least twice a day, blown and brushed.
Any advice would be appreciated!!! (lol)

JMO, if your target show is before September I would stick with working the hair you already have. April 1 slickshearing I'm afraid wouldn't give you enough time to get the regrowth of hair that your hoping for. You are north of us though so I would suggest that you ask your "locals".

If you are using sheepheads, I'd say probably a 7112 comb with a 4 point cutter and set the comb out a little bit so you leave a little bit of hair.  I know it sounds counter intuitive, but if you leave a little length you can start training the hair again as soon as you get him shaved.

I think time has a good point, but you are north of me and we get pretty good hair by end of July/early August with a similar program that you have.  Just remember to brush a lot!  =)

Also meletonin can help, but i dont think it will be a substantial difference, we have used melatonin in the past, but it isnt something that will make or break you.
