What type of cows does he work best on?  Thinking of breeding a few shorthorns to him that are carriers.

i hear he works well on heat waves and cows that are crossed and need more maternal back into them.  any other suggestions would be appreciated, i'd like to try him.

He worked on a shorthorn at least once. Crimson Tide is out of him. He has a lot of sons that are at stud out of a pretty broad and diverse females. Seems to work on most anything, especially carrier females.

The Shorthorn Plus steer that was reserve at Iowa State Fair this last summer was out of him.  Catch a pic of that one at Joyce Show Cattle....

I've been thinking of using him too.  Any report on birthweights?  Is he reasonably safe for heifers?

he didn't moderate our calf too much, she is still young right now but still has some grow. i can't say she will be big like her momma but she isn't going to be small. she is hairy, sound and pretty thick. she isn't going to blow you away from behind but she is adequate but she does look really good on the stand still.

thats just my experience with him and only one calf, can't really pick a pattern but i agree that he could probably be bred to the really crossed up females successfully.
hope this helps a little
