How reliable is hairy ears as a prediction to the amount of hair a calf will grow?  Alot of people have told me look at their ears.  So I was just wondering if that is at all reliable?

It can be. But if the work isn't put in it really doesn't matter.

Big hairy ears are the best!! Haha I haven't meet a hairy eared cow I didn't like. We always joke at home that it's good luck, never clip it off just comb'em and trim them even! haha

I think that usually when a calf has hairy ears, they usually are hairy. So far all of the calves that I have owned that have hairy ears have had great hair! ;) Don't get me wrong though, I had to do alot of work to get that nice hair :)
