President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.

On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days.
The single day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.

Congrats on joining the services.  I was perusing facebook the other day and saw that you had joined and it looks like finished boot camp.  When did you join?

Happy Armed Forces Day to you Zach, and thank-you for your service and sacrifice. I can say I am proud to see young people from agriculture and more specifically a cattle kid make a selfless, responsible move. Way to go, I will speak for my colleagues and say we are all very proud of you!!!!
