Having fun at Simmental Junior Nationals ...

Day two of the Simmental junior nationals. Lots to do here, and NE is doing a great job of keeping things moving and people fed. Today was sales talk, and after lunch is livestock judging. The fitting contest is tonight, and my oldest is on a team. This is our family vacation time, and we love the opportunity to meet new friends and reacquainting with the old.
Below is a few pics, my middle daughter and her heifer in sales talk (oldest daughter is holding the heifer). And my oldest waiting for sales talk to begin with our Upgrade heifer.
I hope if anybody on here that is reading this is here, they will come by and say hi! We are in the Missouri isle, on the south side of the isle.

Day three of Nationals, much better weather today! It was miserable yesterday. I have to say, the flies up here are MUCH more vicious than the flies around us!!!! They draw blood on my legs, and do not go away.
I am proud to say both of our girls made it into the semi finals in showmanship! It is a tough game here at the Nationals. Right now they are doing public speaking, and tonight I am so excited, we get to go to Vogler Semen Center where we will get to see Broker and Driver!!!!!

Here is a pic I took of him. Trifecta was also there, and a few others. I took most pics with my good camera, so I can not get those off till we get home. This one I took with my phone.

Wow, what a bull...also sounds like you are having a great time! I wish we could make it to more events like that. Best of luck the rest of the way!

Wow, what a day! The percentage show just finished; around 5. We think the judge did a great job. We only had one heifer today, and she ended up 6th in her class; about where we expected. She is not striding out well, I don't know if it is from being tied up for a week now or just getting big... Anyway, here is a pic of her before my daughter took her into her class...

Well, it is now over. Another national is in the history books. As we begin our long 6 1/2 hour drive home, I am able to pleasantly reflect back on a long week. Our kids did well, with our oldest placing 11th high individual in intermediate, 4th in cattlemen quiz, and 5th in public speaking. Our middle daughter, 11, placed 11th in sales talk! Her first junior national show and we are so proud of both girls. We are truly blessed! Thank you everyone for the nice letters in my inbox all week, it was appreciated.
Now to prepare for our big district fair, Ozark Empire Fair, and State Fair.
