Need to look at the Hereford assoc rules on a purchased heifer that won't breed.  It may give you something to think about before you pound her out

Look into the American Hereford associations laws. Most of the time they require a vet to have them checked out. If you cant find anything there you can probably call or email them for more information. The if you have had her for so long you may also have to deal with it. All depending on the laws. Hope that helps some.

You say the seller of the bad heifer is "well respected in the area"  so why doesn't he respond to your calls and emails?  Probably because he thinks you will give up and stop calling.  Since the heifer was crazy when you got her home and won't breed, I recommend contacting a lawyer.  One letter from him is probably all it will take to get things taken care of.  Shame on the seller for not making things right, sooner.  Good luck!
