I want to use them but I'm worried about his birth weights. How bad are they?  ??? Also what kind of cows do they work best on.

thanks for the help

I have a heat wave calf cooking in a big red angus cow right now.  I will give you the wt. when he comes.  (Notice that I called it HE?!!)  wishful thinking!

Thanks. I'm just a small breeder and we don't have a very good vet around here.

Just my opinion here Lacey, but I would use heatwave on an older, moderate to larger framed cow that has proven to you that she can have a clubbie calf on her own.  Heatwave semen is not cheap, so you would probably would want to use it on your best cow that could handle it.  I just looked in my book, I have 2 others bred to Heatwave that are medium frame black baldie type cows.  I'll let you know.

Can't say from first hand experience, but know several people that have used Heat Wave, and they are BIG. HUGE. Nothing less than 100, none more than 135. So use with caution!!!
