I have an About Time and a Heat Seeker that I am setting up to flush.  TH and PHA results are pending.  Both cows are smaller framed, freak fronted, huge topped and sound, could use a shot of bone, both are yak haired and both are black.  I am interested in producing colored /painted up calves. calves, that have more grow than their dams.  Assume they are TH and PHA free when offering suggestions.  Thanks.

i said this in an earlier post but have seen really good calves out of alias x heat seeker matings as long as the cow is sound.... If she is sound and good fronted, he oughta throw some bone and color on them.... haven't seen hardly any about time calves aside from his first calf crop about 4 yrs ago.

ZNT (here on SP) has a nice Maine bull you might want to check out. He has muscle and bone and great hair. Outcross. Should add some heterosis to your cows.

If I were shooting for performance factors like grow etc, I would go back with a purebred bull. To me you may have more consistency with a purebred bull. I have not seen tremendous growth out of clubby genetics consistently. About time can throw some color in general- I would go Shorthorn. Quiet a few bulls out there that could take you up a frame score. But shorty's are my favorite.

Gotta love a good smoky calf.  This one will make keep them hairy, sound, a little more frame and great temperaments.  Looks like the daughters should make good mommas also.  Check him out at  http://www.cattlevisions.com/charolais/RCCColdFront.php

Heres a Cold Front out of a who made who.  He is clean to all known defects.

might sound funny considering he kind of fell of the face of the earth but, copper penny. I saw him while down in Texas and he was sheered out but a very impressive bull. Walked like a cat and had a great disposition and muscle expression. He wont add much size though

Mark,  most of the calves have been 75 to 95 lbs with a couple above out of PB Charolais cows with a lot of birth weight on their side.

The biggest advantage is they come out shaped for calving ease and then take off.  They are very vigorous and have worked great on smaller clubby bred females.  If you have any questions just call Judd Redalen at (507)421-0123.  They bred the bull and use him AI.      http://redalencattlecompany.com/
You can also call Shaun Doherty  (920)650-6504 in wisconsin.  Cold Front walks his pasture cleaning up after AI.  Shaun  also bred the heifer pictured above.  She was our daughters market heifer last year and did quite well all year including a class winner at Badger Kickoff.  She is due shortly to GCF Mr Amigo, the Dream On son from Grindstone Creek.
Here is another Cold Front out of a who cow that won the AOB at wisconsin state fair and res. AOB at world Beef Expo for Doherty's.
