We have a heifer that coughs a LOT! It started when we were feeding her for fair and I thought it was from the dry beet pulp maybe. Well now she's been out on pasture for over a month and still has it. Any ideas for a cause and possible solution? Thanks

Is there a chance she has had pneumonia?  If they get a case when young it can cause scar tissue in the lungs and a cough.  Have had a couple of show animals with the same issue.  No temp, no discharge, just a raspy cough.

I have a bull and heifer with the same problem, but the vet has checked them multiple times, we tried anti-inflammatory and antibiotics with no results, but whatever the cause is, the vets sure it's in the throat. Hopefully it will go away in time...

There's a good chance she has hookworms I believe it's called.  Get some wormer called PROHIBIT and that should do the trick.  We've had it as we'll.  calf does fine and all but just coughs a lot.  I think worms attach in throat.  Hookworms aren't controlled by most wormers.
