Hi everyone I have a Jan 1st purebred herf heifer that is showing no signs of heat except for the blood after ovulation and she was checked about 4-5 times a day during the periods in which she should be exhibiting signs. I have been following the heats for about two months and have never seen any real signs of heats however they are all on time based on the blood from ovulation. Is this something I showed be concerned about or should I just throw her in with the bull instead of trying to AI.  Thanks

It should get better this month, none of my cows rode at all in Feb due to all the ice. The first part of March wasn't much better with ice and then knee deep mud, but they have started acting normal now that the weather has leveled out.

I would use a synch protocol that works for you. If you think she heated on a certain date then use the    co-synch to give you a time to AI standing heat or not. I would try to start the synch when it would most closely coincide with her (as far as you can guess) normal cycle.

She is a January 1, 2014, right?  that would make her 14 months old.  She should be cycling.  Give her a shot of lute about a week after you see the blood and put a patch on her.  She should cycle in 3-4 days if she has a CL.  If not. have her palpated to make sure she is reproductively sound.  Good luck!

Is possible to detect if she is cystic this way? My AI guy use to say Synch protocols with hormones can help relieve some cystic problems.  ???

I gave 2cc in each hip according to 5 day protocol with 2 shots.  I could have tried one shot, but i like experimenting a little.
