As I begin to think about what bulls to use this fall and next spring, I was wondering what everyone's favorite heifer safe (or potentially safe) simmy bulls are.  Especially those that are either Dream On free or DO free back a few generations.

So far, I'm eyeing United and Cowboy Cut.  What are your thoughts?

W/C United isn't heifer safe enough for me. If I really knew she had a lower BW pedigree I may risk it.

We have been using this SimAngus bull on a lot of the commercial cattle and few registered ones. Will keep using him. Calves always grow well and breed some heifers here this fall that look really nice. http://abs-bs.absglobal.com/beef/simmental.asp?CodTouro=29SM0423

Had 2 out of SimAngus heifers this year. One stayed a bull other in heifer pen. Real happy and will use more http://www.selectsiresbeef.com/index.php/bull-database-view-page?bid=291&breed=SimAngus

Here is another SimAngus we will use hard this year. Been hearing lots of good things so far.

Beefmaker
Pictured is a Beef Maker heifer out of a Pioneer first calf heifer. She was less than 50 pounds at birth, and she calved about 5 weeks ago, a Pays To Dream bull calf, 50 pounds. Doing a great job of being a cow. Great EPD's.
Other suggestions; Broadway. http://www.selectsiresbeef.com/index.php/bull-database-view-page?bid=355&breed=Simmental
I also like this bull, http://www.selectsiresbeef.com/index.php/bull-database-view-page?bid=325&breed=SimAngus, and have our first calf due in November by him, out of a January (so she will be 22 months) heifer.

Commercial outfit here, with no inclination toward the show ring.

Have been using only high CED SM sires on heifers (mostly ANxSimAngus or ANxSM) for several years... why use an Angus sire and give up WW?
Have used several Shear Force 38K sons/grandsons.
Triple C Bettis - small, easily-born calves... but lacking in growth... won't be using him again.
Hooks Pharaoh 16P - born easily, and I've liked the growth we got...no daughters though.
WS All In W111 - first couple on the ground this fall... more to come next spring; first ones look to be nice, growthy calves... born with no assistance.
After Shock... should be a couple on the ground this spring, more next fall.
Still like BeefMaker... just don't think I'll ever get to use him...

I have had really good luck with Uno Mas on non Dream On's.  All 60-65 lb calves this last year.

Good luck with Cowboy Cut as well.  Ran with him more this year and used him for a flush actually.

I m very intrigued with Innocent Man, talked to many that thought he was pretty heifer safe.
