one picture doesn't look so bad-- the other-- not much worse..  personally- doubt that cow will go off feed--and I wouldn't do anything about it.. maybe spray some iodine on it, and give a shot of LA200.. but that would be pushing it.

If you can get ahold of Underwoods wound treatment in your area it will clear it right up and not even leave a scar.  We use it more on horses because they are more likely to slice themselves up, but it can be hard to get in some states.

I would cut that flap off with a scalpel. Make sure it bleeds a little. We always do that to horses that get cut up and can't be stitched up.

I would let it be but watch for infection. Cows are tough.
I was checking cows once and found one that had a 8 to 10 inch gash on the lowest part of her side without calling it her belly. Went home and got the trailer, went back up the next day and had another with the identical wound. Loaded them up met the vet. He said he could not stitch them up due to the location. We loaded them up on drugs, because they wounds were so big. You cannot tell to this day even in summer they had a problem. Yes we figured out what caused it.

Blukoat?

Vetricyn is not the same as the old blu lotion or spray we had years ago. This stuff WORKS...on EVERYthing. I agree...that's what I would use. And I wouldn't worry about it too much. Cattle ARE tough.
