Heifer Weights
« on: May 07, 2016, 05:11:08 PM »
We have a Broker heifer that we will be showing this summer and possibly at our state fair.  I just posted a pic of her today on another thread but I am curious if anyone ever weighs there heifers.  I think our heifer could stand to gain a few pounds but I think she just needs a little more condition and to deepen out a bit.  She was born Feb 25, 2015.  I know show heifers will weigh a bit more than just your average commercial herd of yearlings and I want her to compete but not be overly heavy.  We plan to breed on her next heat cycle in roughly 14 days and I think she is in good condition for breeding know but what is a good weight?
