I went into a heifer today to check on her cervix and feel around because I'm gonna be AI'ing her for the first time soon.  As soon as I got in, I pulled back some poo and got blood.  It was also noted that she has several bumps or knots down both sides of her tail and a significant bump on her back about 3-4 inches in front of her tail head?  She is eating, drinking, and pooping fine.  No changes in feed.  I wormed her about 10 days ago.  Any help or just thoughts would be appreciated? ???

I have felt this in cows before, were there knots in her colon or just on the outside?  Two different vets have told me that 1) it can (very rarely) be warts and they can sometimes form in the very end of the colon or that 2) it is a viral infection similar to whichever herpes it is that causes sold sores, either way they've told me not to worry about them, if you think it could be warts just pop one with a pair of pliers  and they all should go away.  Some pics would help too with a diagnosis.

remember though, when in doubt CALL THE VET!!!  better to waste 60 bucks on a farm call than lose an animal to something you had no idea even exists
