Help with goats! Feed/Supplement suggestions

My daughter has decided to show goats this year.  We've done hogs and steers, but never goats!   We've fed Vitafirm Sure Champ for almost 3 yrs. now to our steers, and love it....I am guessing the Sure Champ Goat is also an excellent product?  Anyone have any experirence with it specifically with goats?  I keep hearing horror stories of goats going off feed and dying-- don't want that to happen to my daugher.  

Sure Champ has the good stuff in all their supplements that keep calves on feed. Since we started feeding Sure Champ I have never seen a calf go off feed.

You should look into Essential Show Feeds 18% Protein 7% Fat Lamb creep.  The grand goat at San Antonio and the Reserve at Forth Worth were fed this feed.  It is barley based and keeps them really firm while still getting the shape needed.  If you have more questions let me know.

Your biggest concern with showing goats is not them going off feed but more so them getting urinary calculi. This is the main killer of wethers every where but can be avoided by a good balanced feed with appropriate ammount of ammonium chloride in it. We feed our goats just a basic complete formulated feed and supplement them with Show Bloom and Rock Solid which is a supplement that helps convert fat to muscle more easily. and also drench them alot right before a big show with an egg mixture that is super high in protien and that will put a top on a goat like no other and is Perfectly legal

The feed that was recommended is medicated and is supposed to help with the calcium build up.  The breeder also suggested drenching every 3 wks. with an apple cider vinegar/water mixture to help avoid the build up.  Wondering if anyone has used sure champ on goats?

No Sure Champ, but the Grand Goat is a pretty stout  supplement.  It has 'full stream' in it for the UC, and has really worked well in our experience.  Most of the big time guys I know use it in their sale wethers to get them ready.
