What are the best current pre show treatments for popping pasterns. I have been suggested anti-pop and freeze it. Anyone have experience with these or any  other proven solutions to suggest.

I would recommended talking to your breeder, vet or some other experienced person YOU TRUST!! Based on my research and basic knowledge, I've learned the fundamental reasoning for popping pasterns is either mineral deficiency or ligament issues.  If you believe it's due to mineral deficiency then go with anti-pop, Multimin 90, Replamin Gel (I've heard that works well also) or other recommended supplements.  So many are ready to write off popping pasterns as a genetic soundness issue. That's not always the case.  Good luck!

Where is the calf in finish? sometimes as calves get to that finish point it can be more pronounced. This would be my addition to the other posters comments.

Get his feet trimmed.  Take off as much heel as you can, to stretch his pastern as much as possible.

If the popping isn't terrible, sometimes some simple geometry can fix it.

I don't know anything about the supplements.  We have never had one pop as they were getting close to fat.  We have had them pop when they weighed 750 pounds, but that was mostly due to a hot ration.

Good Luck
