What do you all think of this heifer? A mentor of mine has her for sale, I thought she was pretty impressive, wanted your opinions!

Im on my phone and at home pics take forever to load if they even do. As a hereford breeder I hate it when people say hereford colored ones are a hereford.

Does the title not say "Hereford Cross Heifer"? Or did that get edited? Maybe I missed something but there wasn't any surprise to find out she was not PB Hereford. But I get your point how many have been sold as pure bred Hereford when they really were not?

With a white face, I'd definitely describe her as a Hereford Cross, like you did. I really like her! She's very balanced, with a ton of body, while still being long bodied and clean fronted. Structurally she looks good, plus I love her markings. She makes me wish that I had more cows so I could cross my Herefords to get some cool calves like that! Should make an awesome project for someone. If you bred her Shorthorn and were able to get a calf marked like Indian Outlaw, that would be pretty cool!

I wasnt trying to take anything away from the heifer either. Now that I can see the pic she is nice. As much as I am against the hereford look alikes she is one that you could breed again to a hereford and get hereford steers that would class. I think even as a crossbred she would be competitive as a show heifer. Her calves will have some chrome if I were to guess.

:) Nice Heifer-- I wouldn't turn her away either.  If she was mine- she'd be going in with my roan bull to see what kind of great color pattern I'd get!

I think she looks like an old school red and white Simmental marked calf before I would call her Hereford marked.

I like her! I'd buy her...

She's marked more like the traditionally colored Simmental cattle I grew up with than she is a Hereford, and I realize she's half Hereford. I loved the color patterns of those cattle back before everybody was bias toward making em all black, all solid colored, and all look alike. Now that trend has changed some, and people can appreciate different colored cattle a little more than there for a while, especially if you're raising show calves. I would love to have one like her!

Well....gotta tell ya. I hate to see when people just keep those poor critters around. We have a wayward home for animals JUST like yours. I know she may be an ugly beast but we would begrudgingly take her in for you so you just don't have to look out at that little gal any longer. ;)

(thumbsup) Nice heifer.
