Kids just need to suck it up. "Bullying" has been going on since the dawn of man. Its a part of that tough journey we call life.

Heres what you don't want to happen:

Last night (12-1-2010) one of my sons friends from the local high school killed himself do to the bullying that he got in school.  We have a no bullying policy, have had it for a year, I hope they through the kids that did this in Jail and throw away the Key.  This could have been my son had we not pulled him out, this kid stuck up for my son when he was getting bullied and he took the bullying for years before he finally couldn't take it anymore.  Let this be a lesson to all.  Please pray for his family, they will need it, he was 17yrs. old.

cars kill 40,000 people each year and we still drive them.

on the other hand, bullies are sly when confronted and are more careful and threaten outside of school.

if there was an easier method to move kids around between schools, maybe parents would get the message.

on the other hand, there could be fake complaints which is a form of bullying itself.

an unusual study of an animal social network suggests that ending up as the butt of unfriendly interactions could be in part inherited.

"If you want to be in a group, you have to take the nasty stuff," Blumstein says. Being able to tolerate that abuse instead of shying away from interactions that might end unfortunately could indeed be a trait favored by evolutionary forces.

kinda reminds me of the c-section conundrum in two respects, if humans are to continue to evolve may mean larger brains which could mean a variety of things like brain matter elsewhere like up our rear end and that c-sections in general are kind of a dead end selection in that if we keeps selecting for larger brains that have to be delivered by c-section we could end having a small hip large head problem like some cattle and that we will have to solve that by selecting for smaller birth weights which could have effects elsewhere or that we would have to give drugs to shorten pregnancy or other techniques that mother nature took care of with somewhat less regard for death rate though that could have selection pressure as well by not wanting to have it as it generates negative emotions.

a similar metaphor is, is it better to kill people with drones or use harsh interrogation techniques?  are both bullying?
