Show Heifers
« on: July 20, 2010, 10:16:21 AM »
The board has been a little slow lately so I thought I'd post some pics. The first is my shorthorn heifer I got from McFarlands (a.k.a. Dooling1). She is a march Wildside X Gold Rush cow. The second is the chi heifer I raised. She is an october Texas Hold Em (Habenger) X Jack Frost cow. So tell me what you think.

The first one looks a LOT like a heifer I sold last fall.  I like them, have you had them out much?

I've been to some county fairs and I'm taking them to state fair.

My chi heifer has hair but I just can't get it to "pop". Any suggestions?

From the pic she looks to be pretty hard haired, which will be difficult to "pop" with anything.  In hot weather you could try mixing a bit of Scope with Kleen Sheen at the show.  Before that it's rinse and brush and keep as cool and dark as possible.
