a good backdrop and stall decoration, will bring far more people to your pens than you might think... People that otherwise might not come over, and people than are looking for you, but can't find you in the hecktic mess... We put just enough information out there, to generate questions... My philopsophy is that if I can engauge in conversation, I can sell them something.
For our stalls, we have a purple backdrop, with pedigrees hanging on it, and a few random other things. Our actual display is made from 4 lawn trelises together, with x'mass lights and pictures of herd sires, sold stuff, and show winners... really only the important ones. A endless supply of business cards are also available... We're also going to put a small table with some candy on it, to kinda draw people to stop and read... Perhaps in the future, we might get 'rich' enough to supply the world with ink-pens.
Ours is simple, but still cost plenty, we made things about as cheap as we could, and it still cost about $200. It doesn't take very long to setup- but forever to print off pedigrees!
When you take only 1-3 head to a fair, decorating your stalls is worthless, especially if you have never produced anything, or haven't produced anything worthy of notes... Also, if you are just taking a market animal, you're wasting your money.. Stall decorations are for the breeders, who are trying to sell a product... for those who take 40-50 head to a show...
