Had my first 2014 calf this week, an Angus sired heifer out of a F1 Shorthorn/Angus cross. So the calf is 3/4 Angus.
The F1 dam was out of an Angus cow and a Shorthorn bull.  She is black with a white underline.  100% of the F1's from this combination have been black with a white underline.
The Shorthorn bull was the white son of a white bull.  His dam was a light roan.
The new calf is solid jet black.

Probably a blessing, worth more all the way around-Not when you get your A456780-s kicked in the showring: Although a steer crossed with a horn will be alot better eating than a staight Angus-YEA YEA-Ive owned both-and our good blue roan bull awhile back was out of a beutifull, and corrrct (one of the few correct Angus we had) Gardiner Angus cow; and her calf out of Juneau was a barn burner for an Angus -WONDER WHAT JUNEAU HAD IN HIM?
