We have tried to introduce some black Simmental into our herd. We like what the breed has to offer and they compliment the existing cattle we have very well. The issue we have run into is disposition. We have one that is a the most gentle cow in the heard.---but 50% of them are just plain wild. They are hard to sort  hard to move from pen to pen that kind of temperament. I just wanted to know if others have the same issue. Maybe we have just had bad luck with disposition.  What about doc. epds. do they work?  We plan to use them more in breeding decisions in the future. What are your thoughts? I would  like to make this work.

On average it's our angus cows that give us fits. The SimAngus calves out of them are most times very easy to handle. All cattle breeds have a few wild ones. All bulls don't work the same at every farm either. Switch bulls and see if that helps........good luck. Don't give up on Simmental's yet!
