I am new to raising club calves and bought a cow bred to I am Legend who had a heifer calf in May.
I am not sure what is up with her.  She looked pretty good when she was young except not hairy but
now she has hair but she is shorter in the front than the back. Do calves go thru awkward stages like
colts can?  Would she be good to breed or should we just sell her at the auction?  Thanks for any advice

Just because they are out of a popular clubby bull doesn't mean every calf is a keeper, your heifer looks more like a bull in her front end,and looks to be lacking in her rear. Not necessarily a sale barn candidate but not gonna big anytime soon either.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't...she's old enough now you should be able to determine what to do with her. Sometimes the hardest thing is realizing one you placed a lot of hopes on is just better off moving down the road.

Looks to me like a clip job would make her look a whole lot better.
