International Genetic Solutions. I attended a meeting this past Monday evening and a speaker talked about this program regarding DNA testing of the cow herds. Google it. There maybe some great availability to genetically evaluate your cow herd via DNA and be able to rank your cows from top to bottom to help know which cows are the best via real economics. Cost per cow to DNA test was to be $15.00. They are subsidizing the cost. There was a one time up front cost of $500.00 regardless whether you have 10 cows or 10,000 cows. Computer program comes with that cost. I will be looking further into the program.

A lot of great work is being done by the breed associations who have joined forces in the Cow Herd Roundup (CHR) project. There is a great deal of information available on the American Simmental Association page. There are also staff members who are very excited about this project and would be willing to discuss the impact it could have on your herd.

It's beyond high time that the breed associations get together and pull together instead of arguing with each other. It would be so nice to have all of them use the same formulas to create EPDs across the board instead of us trying to have to remember data facts about each particular breed.
