It's been a long time since I've implanted any steers and I have a quick question. I'm out of town working and my wife took all of the show steers to the Vet today for various things. I asked her to ask the Vet his opinion on implanting them in the future. At some point, there was some miscommunication and now I have four steers with Revlar G in their ears. Two of them are tagged for the Texas majors and are both 950- 1000#. I'm not overly concerned about them because they're both structurally sound but I wanted to wait a little longer. The other two are county steers and won't see the show ring until the last week of April. One is a nice AOB at 790# and the other is a pretty good American at 680#. How screwed am I on the younger two? I'm open to opinions on what to do.

Revalor G is for cattle on grass. It's 1/3 the potency of Revalor S. No exactly sure what your goal is, but I don't think you'll experience any adverse effects. You can still give a terminal implant to the lighter calves in January, or if you want, just slit the back of their ears now and pop the implants out.

There should be absolutely no problems.

It is when you start double dosing and the "like" when you run into issues.

No harm.
