Have a steer that was supposed to be sold at the county fair but now might have chance to go to a show much later in the year as he is not quite finished. I know that the steer should have been finished before we gave him the implant but he just wasn't eating so we gave it to him anyway to boost his appetite.  If the steer was given the Revelar S implant in early July, will he still put on some finish?  Should we implant him again 30 days prior to winter show?  Just not sure how to take it from here so any input would be great!

I personally don't like to use implants for show steers. I feel like it raises their H bone and can make them look a little staggy. Implants are not known for putting on finish as far as I know, but rather used primarily for faster more efficient gains in feedlot cattle, but I question whether or not that is exactly as good as stated by the companies that sell them. JMO.
