In Vitro on Preg cows???

While discussing current events while clipping bulls, the conversation turned to ET stuff.
A guy told me that he was told you could do in vitro on a cow that was bred, as long as she was at least 45 days, without aborting the calf. I am unfamiliar with in vitro, but this just didn't sound right. ???
Can anyone clarify this for me?? :)

Yep...up to 120 days...or as long as the ET Tech can get to the ovaries through manipulation.  I had a cow that was almost 120 days but was very hard to feel beyond the cervix.  The Tech needs to be able to hold the ovaries to extract the ovacyts.  A pregnant cow actually will produce more ovacyts than a non pregnant one I was told by Trans Ova, but after 90 days it gets harder to IVF.
