Internet Providers n/c

I am getting frustrated with the internet provider we have!! now that we have had something other then dial up you cant hardly live with out it!!!  ;D  We have a wireless internet called signature blue where we have a "radio" that faces the coop and it had been great up until a week or so ago and we have had problems before right when we got it, just internet about as slow as dial up. Trying to look at my other options, because theres no sense in paying for internet at that price when dial up is as fast.. They think its a radio problem but said they wouldn't be able to get here for a week or so. Curious what wireless providers everyone else has, what do you think of wild blue?! haven't learned alto about satellite internet but seems like it may be our best choice. Thanks

We have the mediacom package.

Phone, internet, and cable, Id say itas a pretty good deal when you look at the prices individually then at the package.

We have the same, phone, internet and dish package through our telephone company, however we are in an urban area and that may not be avaliable to rural customers.

We are not able to get that,    DSL would be cool they send us stuff in the mail to get it! but we look into it and they cant go out here.

We got us celluar's and It is way fast, no problems and just went down to 40 a month.

Can that us cellular or verizon deal be used on multiple computers though?! because its just that one wireless card.

Yes, the verizon card can be used on multiple computers. We tried it and liked it but couldn't deal with the limitations ( how much you can download per month ) without penalty so we're currently still using Hughes Net. They're ok but have reliability issues.

Why what at wonderful day!.... you might kindly consider Hughes Net. I live in the most wonderful countryside you have ever seen, and had only two choices, hughes net or sky blue. I went with Hughes net. They have been wonderful to deal with, and while they do sometimes have difficulties (not probems, just minor issues) it is usually short lived (minor, very minor). On negative if I dare so say, is that "customer service"  is usually some foreign speaking person whom you can not understand, I do realize it is not their problem that I can not understand their dilect (totally my fault, I'm sure) , but it does make things difficult.
So, if you so desire to consider them, it might suit you well.

We use a microwave broadband service (wireless) that has enough bandwidth to also carry VOIP phone.  We set up a wireless router and anybody around the house can get in on it.  Whole package is $70 per month and never a long distance phone call charge unless it is out of North America, which we do not call.  Can set up to ring forward to cell phone if service goes out and it emails voice mails to my office email.  Pretty sweet set up.  Seems there are more and more of the high speed wireless outfits out there.

If you are considering Hughes Net you need to know they have download and upload limits.  If your download more than your limit they slow down your internet for 24 hours.  I believe Wild Blue may have that same policy.  Weather can also affect how good your service is from them.

I personally dont download alot so hopefully wouldnt be a factor, thanks for info, we will see if they show up this week to fix our internet and see how its working after that.

We have Wild Blue and it is pretty good. We priced Hughes Net but it is more expensive than Wild Blue but everyone who has Hughes Net seems to like it.

Wild Blue has really strict downloading/uploading policies though. We went over the limit once last summer and they took away our access for a month. But the good thing was if logged on at like 5am, it would let you on anyway because not many people use the satellite that early. After that we upgraded so we could download more stuff. Other than that, it's pretty reliable.
