Just curious if many people on here will be down there at all? We will be there the 19-22 in the new stalling barn clear up by tie outs, we will have a few lowline heifers there. Feel free to stop in we should be around most of the time while there.

Our family will be there for a lot of the fair.  My youngest daughter will be showing on the 18th in the 4-H breeding heifer show and my eldest daughter will be there to assist with 4-H Livestock check in for the whole fair.  My wife and I will be volunteering with the livetock check-in, etc. and several other 4-H related events.  I may have to leave on the 19th-21st but I'll be back for the Shorthorn show on Saturday the 22nd.  I'd like to get around and see everyone from SP who's there.  I'll make it a point to stop over and see you Matt!!

Lynn,

I will sure be around the 22nd I believe we get released around 3 and it is always nice to watch the shorty show. Will look forward to seeing you. Was wanting to make it up your way to see the cattle but it just never seems like things slow down, maybe after fair.

RA show on the 21 (Friday) the shorties show on 22 (Saturday). Usually same day, but I heard since the shortie show in Missouri is on Fri, they moved the Iowa show to Saturday.

With simplification of the RA vs. Shortie show, it confused the shortie vs. Simmi show, as they will be showing at the same time now.

And Futurebreeder: Do not even get me started about schools starting before the state fair is over. Unexcusable in my opinion.

It looks like I'll be there on Aug. 16, 17, 18 and then again on the 21st and 22nd.  I'll be there for the RA show and the Shorthorn show--not showing this year, though.  Briar starts school on the 19th --really threw a monkey wrench in our plans for the Shorthorn show.

We will be down there the 12th-15th with two Monopoly steers for the open feeder calf show.
They show at 9am on the 15th. We will be in the southeast end of the swine barn, right next to the open show arena. If anyone is down there, look us up. We would love to meet any SP members.

We always just skipped school if we were going to the fair.  They really didn't have a problem with it...

Thanks Lynn!
Yup, he was kind of a brat. He had a meeting with the donkey all day today. Leads much better this evening. Mark Copus(works for Phil Lautner) bought him today for quite a bit!!
We will get insurance on him before we haul him down to state fair.
