Well actually I use my ipod, and I use it for my blog. It great to have updates, and its fast! It takes awhile for the browser to upload. That why I think websites have apps, I think. hahaha

I currently develop Android apps.  Iphone apps are just too big of a pain to get anything into their app store.  The real need for cell phone apps, where websites are concerned, is to make it easier for the user to consume information.  If you put a website in your browser you're resizing, shrinking and scrolling everywhere.  Basically a cell phone app will reorganize the website to show properly on your phone.

Agreed, and there's already a mobile version of Steerplanet.  I'm asking partly out of professional curiosity.  Iphone people keep asking for apps to access websites when they've already god a web browser.

I have it as an App that I applied off of safari for Steerplanet.  It is basically a shortcut to the site.

Iphone people are addicted to apps.  Android users are becoming just as demanding.  Although there is a mobile version apps still organize things better.  Mobile versions basically cut the fat and allow it to load faster.  Apps customize everything for the operating system on the phone.  An example that is free to look at is the Facebook app.  I have it on my Android phone and wouldn't think of opening Facebook on my browser.

I picked up a droid development book the other day, if I ever have sometime I would like to mess around with developing app.  Something to add a feature or functionality.

I have thought about installing tapatalk, so people had that option when browsing the forums.  I have a large enough screen, evo, that I actually prefer the regular version of the site over the mobile.
